Vice President of Research
Barry is responsible for delivering world class research content and learning opportunities to the supply chain community. He covers a range of topics including distribution and logistics networks, supply chain integrity, and supply chain transformation and talent development. His research cuts across all industries, but with a particular focus on the healthcare and life sciences value chain. He joined SCM World in 2013.
Prior to joining SCM World, Barry was the lead healthcare and life sciences analyst on Gartner’s supply chain research team. In this role, he led and managed the Healthcare Top 25 research. Between SCM World and Gartner, he has published over 60 research articles and reports on numerous supply chain topics.
Adrian Gonzalez is trusted advisor and leading industry analyst with more than 15 years of research experience in transportation management, logistics outsourcing, global trade management, social media, and other supply chain and logistics topics. He is the founder and president of Adelante SCM, a peer-to-peer learning and networking community for supply chain and logistics executives and young professionals. He is also the founder and host of Talking Logistics, a weekly online video talk show where he leads conversations with thought leaders and newsmakers in the supply chain and logistics industry.
Prior to his current roles, Adrian held various leadership positions at ARC Advisory Group, Motorola, Polaroid, and Clare. Adrian speaks frequently at industry events and conferences and is regularly quoted in industry publications. He is also a member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals and a LinkedIn Influencer.
Adrian has a B.S. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Cornell University. He also earned a Graduate Certificate in Supply Chain Management from Northeastern University, where he has served as an adjunct instructor in their Executive MBA program.

In addition to his responsibilities as Managing Principal of van Bodegraven Associates, Art is also Founding Principal of Discovery Executive Services, a Team Member and SME Resource at S4 Consulting, and a Public Advocate for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Peter Retterer, Director North America Procurement, joined Goodyear on January 26, 2009. Currently, he oversees the all North American Procurement including: Direct raw materials, manufacturing and non-manufacturing indirects, procurement strategy and transformation, and other strategic external relationships. Prior to joining Goodyear, Peter held a variety of Purchasing and Procurement leadership positions with ECOLAB Inc. Most recently he held the position of Director of Global Strategic Sourcing and Indirect Procurement.
Peter received his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University and his MBA from Loyola University.
Supply Chain Director, Thiochemicals
Peter was the Supply Chain Manager of Functional Additives for four years before transitioning to the Supply Chain Director for Thiochemicals. Thiochemicals is a unique business that derives value from elemental sulfur. Their motto is: “we smell” — which is actually a very good thing as one of their key product lines is gas odorants for propane and natural gas. He worked for Rohm & Haas for 20 years in many capacities including process engineering in R&D (monomers), pilot plant supervisor (plastics modifiers and resin), and manufacturing as senior process engineer at Deer Park, TX and operations manager at Bayport, TX. He was recruited into his first official “supply chain” role as the Integration & Global Supply Chain Manager for the Adhesives & Sealants. He then moved into several SC positions including team lead for SAP deployment, lean/capacity optimization specialist, and plant planning manager (architectural coatings).
