Elemica Offers Chemical Industry e-Business Benchmark Study For Peer-to-Peer Assessments & Competitive Analysis
Participants Gain Awareness of Best Practices & Benefits of e-Business
Exton, PA -
"We conducted a similar study in 2006 that proved invaluable to the participating companies because it helped set goals for their businesses and provided key insight into industry trends and best practices,” said Rick Bushnell, VP of Sales & Marketing at Elemica. “Based on the success of the 2006 study and the feedback received, we plan to expand the participation base in this benchmark study by extending invitation to a wider range of companies." In January 2009, Elemica will begin collecting quantitative and qualitative data in the areas of sales, procurement, vendor-managed inventory (VMI), logistics, and invoicing, from the participants in the study. The scope of the study includes practices and metrics; global focus with regional analysis (Europe and Africa, Americas, Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, including Japan); and business cases and benefits calculators. A comprehensive analysis report, expected to be available in March 2009, will outline the position of chemical companies relative to the rest of the industry - covering current e-business results, value delivery and future plans across customer-facing, logistics, invoicing and procurement functions.
Benefits of Participation will include:
- Gaining a significant return on investment: Use of the report to identify, prioritize, and later close performance gaps, which can result in reduced costs
- Setting goals for their organization using industry-standard benchmarks
- Better understanding of industry trends and best practices
- Analysis that shows how e-business can increase efficiency, quality and improve supply chain integration, including enhanced relationships with service providers
